NAME Terence William Boot.
AGE & BIRTHDAY Seventeen. 20th August 1980.
HOUSE Ravenclaw.
BLOOD LINE Half- Blood. Of sorts.
FAMILY James Boot - Father. Banker. Fifty.
Agatha Boot (nee Bassette) - Mother. Teacher. Forty- eight.
Agnes Boot - Sister. Shop Assistant. Twenty.
HISTORY Terence William Boot was born in Nottingham on August 20th, 1980 the second child of Agatha and James Boot. The couple had met five years previous when they occupied adjacent flats in the same building in London, where Agatha was teaching at a local public primary school, and James worked in a bank. James came from a wizarding family but of the five Boot children, James was the only non-magical one. He took being a squib harder than most and after University he moved as far away from his family as he could get. His only communication with his parents or siblings consisted of Christmas and Birthday cards once a year. Agatha on the other hand was a muggle. Over time the pair became friends, started dating and were married a few months later. Shortly after – Agatha gave birth to their daughter, Agnes. When the girl was a year old, the pair decided to move somewhere more suitable for family living. Agatha was brought up in Nottingham and thought the place ideal – as soon as she managed to secure a teaching position at a school near the city, the family moved.

While James did tell Agatha about his family and his somewhat abnormal upbringing -they never talked about it in front of the children. So Terry was raised in a completely muggle environment. His childhood was fairly normal he went to Muggle schools, was taught a good deal at home by his Mother, and learned early on a great deal about finance due to his father’s constant lectures. Which included: the importance of finance and exactly how debut worked (and fucked up your life), and why you should always wait for an item to go on sale before purchasing – no matter how much you might think you need it. Lectures which greatly influenced young Terry’s first acts of rebellion. A good deal of the Boot family’s weekends and holiday's were spent visiting local places of historical importance, or viewing some horrid local production of one well known play or another. For Terry there was no sudden moment of realization that he was slightly different, in fact the letter from Hogwarts when it came was suspected by the eleven year old to be some sort of grand trick that his parents were playing on him. This may have been due to the fact that he had come to the conclusion a few weeks earlier that Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and similar friends of theirs were all made up. After asking if God too was made up and being told "no that he/she/it was real" Terry was having trust issues with his so called parents. His supposedly wise elders even went as far as to tell him that the majority of his father’s family also exhibited these ‘magical’ abilities that got one into a special boarding school. Terry didn’t buy the story.

Once the fact that Hogwarts was a reality finally set in, Terry set about reading every book containing the tiniest bit of useful knowledge about anything in the Wizarding world, this quest for knowledge went on for quite a while, and then he discovered books on something called quidditch and all thoughts of Goblin Wars and jinxes quickly became far less appealing. He tried to bother James for information but after the first few questions were met with the same icy indifference Terry gave up on his father as a source. His first day at Hogwarts was overwhelming and probably one of the few things that Terry sees as worth remembering. He was content not to vanish off into his imagination for the whole day, the eleven year old was sorted into Ravenclaw, and pleased with this as from what he had heard it was better than most of the other houses.

I need to add stuff past first year...

PERSONALITY Although in truth – Terry has always liked the idea that any great person could be summed up in a phrase, for example Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor, or Amory the protagonist in one of the boy’s favorite books Fitzgerland’s ‘This Side of Paradise’ said that “I know myself and that is all.” That idea, of a perfect phrase for each individual, a tagline so to speak, has always been one of Terry’s favorite odd theories on people’s personalities. In direct conflict with this idea however, he’s never been able to sum himself – or even his best mates up in a sentence. Describing words sure, one of his favorite pastimes is to predict the futures of those around him, not due to any sort of love or interest in the art of divination (in fact he thinks the so called art to be utter rubbish) but more out of the unfortunate mishap of reading a few articles and theories by Freud and a few other Muggle psychoanalysts, at the impressionable age of thirteen.

Although, he enjoys analyzing and relentlessly commenting on the choices, actions, and habits of others Terry is a complete hypocrite if any individual offers to return the favor. Rather than try to explain himself in almost any circumstance, he often chooses to admit to whatever bad habits anyone happens to accuse him of, his Father has often frowned at this ‘inability to take anything seriously and act like an adult’. There have been many times that this character trait when exhibited in his younger years, caused many battles between Terry and his sister, much to his amusement and her chagrin. Terry’s understandably in a bit of an odd place at times, essentially being a Muggleborn but he’s come to the conclusion that although he’s had to learn slightly more over the years, this gives him a ‘best of both worlds’ sort of advantage in certain places and advantages are always helpful.

A great deal of Terry’s waking hours are not spent in the same place that everyone else is visiting. That is to say that he isn’t all that fond of reality, or as Oscar Wilde put it “One's real life is often the life that one does not lead.” When considering anything, be it a theory, which charm he should use, or how to go about starting an essay, Terry carefully goes through all of the options and usually rejects and ignores what he doesn’t like, although this might work with simpler problems, it can sometimes have the unfortunate ability to make life’s larger questions and problems – a great deal more complicated. Like the old adage says ignoring problems won't make them go away.

One of Terry’s more noticeable facets, is what his Mother has always called his ‘penchant for the ridiculous’ as a child – when learning about medieval times, his first choice of job had he lived in the era was always that of a jester. Terry isn’t vain in the physical sense of the word but his ego in terms of perceived intelligence and anything other than looks, is almost to big to bear, humility isn’t a quality the seventeen year old completely understands or even agrees with. He admittedly enjoys feeling superior to others, and uses academics to achieve this. Terry is also well aware of the fact that this makes him a 'show off' and quite annoying, but doesn't seem to mind in the slightest. He has a keen sense of what he feels is socially and morally right though, and sticks to his convictions when it matters.

APPEARANCE Just a brief description, but stay true to your played -by.
PLAYED-BY Jon Foster.

List three things that you would like to play out with your character through out the game. These can be considered development goals and we plan on having members try and complete them as individual storylines that fit into the main plot.

ONE: Argument with Anthony over Terry's constant inability to keep Anthony's secrets to himself.
TWO: The unfortunate position of having to be between two friends in an argument, and having to pick a side.
THREE: He needs to get past his picking on girls he likes and flirting with any and all attractive females phase. I'm not sure how this will be accomplished yet but it needs to happen.
